: My grandfather was Josef Dymskis, who arrived at Ellis Island in 1911. His final destination was Chicago, where he was to meet his father, A. Dimskis, who lived on Michigan Ave. How would I get info from City Directory of 1910-11 or even earlier?

go (in person) to the Chi Historical Soc Research room and ask for these directories..they do have earlier/later than dates you indicate
